Catching the Tiger

spaceFourth in her Palm Haven series, Sennah Tate delivers intriguing and lovable characters as she spins the main characters love story, while adding more insight into the continuing questions that began in book one. While more information is given for the big questions, this is still definitely a stand alone book; Sennah Tate makes sure to give a small recap of the pertinent information so that if a new reader began with this book, they would not feel totally lost.
spaceSennah Tate creates strong, dominant Alpha male characters that come with a flaw. These are not your typical "Me Tarzan, you Jane" males; each has a character flaw that shows their vulnerability... their animal selves may be predatory killing machines but their human selves show indecision or fear of rejection. or a lack of confidence in attaining the object of their desires. Watching these dominant, strong men be concerned about their worthiness makes them sexier, by far. The female characters start off in various stages of lack of self-confidence and feel unworthy of attracting or keeping such a gorgeous, dominant and seemingly self-assured male, focused on them. While pursuing their "prey," these men worship the woman in their sights, giving her total and unconditional acceptance and support, which allows her to build her self-confidence and begin to bloom. The men truly cherish the female they are mated to, and the women grow into the strong, confidant females they were always meant to be. These pairings are nothing short of perfection, allowing the readers to see not only the meshing of soulmates, but what life-mates can and should be.
spaceThis book had a - shorter - steamy sex scene with a delicious build up beforehand. However, this book also gave a lot of information, insight and clues concerning the bigger problem that has been building in Palm Haven, since book one. In other words, there was a lot of action in this book, a lot of forward momentum. The overall question concerning the shifter wars in Palm Haven have still not been resolved, but this reader has the feeling those questions just may be resolved soon, possibly in book five, which is due out May 31, 2016 according to Tate's website. With all of the clues offered throughout this series, this reader has formulated a possible scenario and is anxiously awaiting the next book to see if it is a reasonable possibility or if she is completely off base! I highly recommend this book. ** Review originally posted on Amazon review, May 27, 2016. -- Not in Amazon review... I am suspecting the elder witches, Sage and Esther, together, came up with the idea of shifter clan wars to keep something hidden that they were aware of... when a witch mates with a shifter, she becomes stronger, able to tap into her own magical strength and the strength of whatever animal her mate is. The total acceptance the witch recieves from her mate also allows her to focus her abilities, making these couples some of the strongest in the paranormal community. We'll soon see if my possible scenario comes close to what is in author Sennah Tate's creative mind! **
